User Control Panel FAQ

Q: What is the User Control panel?
A: This is where you can modify certain aspects of your posts, what others see when you post, and relatively anything that has to do with the forum and your account.

Q: Where is the User Control Panel Located?
A: When on the forum homepage, the first gray-bluish bar is where the options for logging in, extra FAQ's, members lists, and account settings are. The account settings are in the lower left corner of this blue bar, and are labeled "User Control Panel". Click it, and it will take you to the place to change your settings.

Q: How do I navigate through the settings?
A: Each settings option is seperated into a category, and seperated further into a sub-cateogory. The top "tabs" are the main category, and the left "tabs" are the sub-categories. To locate a certain setting, you would click the first "top tabs" that your setting would fall under. From there, you would click the "left tabs" that your setting would also fall under. If that is not the setting you were looking for, then keep searching. If you still cannot find it, read the below "FAQ" questions to locate the correct setting.

Q: Under the top tab "Overview" and the left tab "Front Page", what are the settings/information shown?
A: This shows your account statistics such as when you signed up, and where you are most active in the forum. It also shows when you last logged in and how many posts you have. There are no changeable settings here, rather just to show information about your account.

Q: Under the top tab "Overview" and the left tab "Manage Subscriptions", what are the settings/information shown?
A: This allows you to modify your settings about "subscribed" topics. To read what "subscribed topics" are, check the "Forum Extra's and Advanced Features FAQ".

Q: Under the top tab "Overview" and the left tab "Manage Bookmarks", what are the settings/information shown?
A: This allows you to modify your settings about "bookmarked" topics. To read what "bookmarked topics" are, check the "Forum Extra's and Advanced Features FAQ"

Q: Under the top tab "Overview" and the left tab "Manage Drafts", what are the settings/information shown?
A: This allows you to modify your settings about "drafted" posts. To read what "drafted posts" are, check the "Forum Extra's and Advanced Features FAQ".

Q: Under the top tab "Overview" and the left tab "Manage Attachments", what are the settings/information shown?
A: This allows you to modify your settings about "attached" files. To read what "attached files" are, check the "Forum Extra's and Advanced Features FAQ".

Q: Under the top tab "Profile" and the left tab "Edit Profile", what are the settings/information shown?
A: Here it allows you to change your account profile for people to see. This is also where you can change the color of your name and modify the look of your name.

Q: Under the top tab "Profile" and the left tab "Edit Signature", what are the settings/information shown?
A: Here is where you can modify your signature with added colors, images, and text. Please note that forum signatures must follow forum rules.

Q: Under the top tab "Profile" and the left tab "Edit Account Settings", what are the settings/information shown?
A: This is where you can modify your account "email adress" and/or change your password.

Q: Under the top tab "Board Preferences" and the left tab "Edit Global Settings", what are the settings/information shown?
A: This is where you can modify your "global" settings (in other words, it affects everything you do on the forum). Here you can make yourself appear offline, change your pre-set language, or toggle whether people can send you emails.

Q: Under the top tab "Board Preferences" and the left tab "Edit Posting Defaults", what are the settings/information shown?
A: Here you can change certain settings about your future and past posts. This is where you toggle certain features on and off to your liking.

Q: Under the top tab "Board Preferences" and the left tab "Edit Display Settings", what are the settings/information shown?
A: This is where you can toggle certain features about your account on and off such as the ability to enable/dis-able signatures, make smiley's automatically converted to smiley face images, etc.

Q: Under the top tab "Private Messages" and the left tab "Compose Message", what are the settings/information shown?
A: This is where you can send private messages to other people. The messages are sent to their forum inbox, where they can read it and send a message back.

Q: Under the top tab "Private Messages" and the left tab "Manage PM drafts", what are the settings/information shown?
A: This allows you to mofify your settings about your "PM drafts". To read what "PM drafts" are, check the "Forum Extra's and Advanced Features FAQ".

Q: Under the top tab "Private Messages" and the left tab "Inbox", what are the settings/information shown?
A: This is where messages sent to you from other players is shown. This is also where you can read and reply to messages.

Q: Under the top tab "Private Messages" and the left tab "Outbox", what are the settings/information shown?
A: This is where messages you've sent to other players is shown.

Q: Under the top tab "Private Messages" and the left tab "Sent Messages", what are the settings/information shown?
A: This is a superflous tab that has no true purpose.

Q: Under the top tab "Private Messages" and the left tab "Rules, Folders, and Settings", what are the settings/information shown?
A: This is where you can create folders, rules and settings for your messages. To learn what these functions do read the "Forum Extra's and Advanced Features FAQ".

Q: Under the top tab "User Groups" and the left tab "Edit Memberships", what are the settings/information shown?
A: This is where you can modify what user group you would like to be grouped with. By default, all users begin at the group of "Registered users" and will not be able to select a different group until they are promoted to that new group.

Q: Under the top tab "User Groups" and the left tab "Manage Groups", what are the settings/information shown?
A: If you are a leader of a certain group, this is where you can modify the group settings.

Q: Under the top tab "Friends", and the left tab "Manage Friends", what are the settings/information shown?
A: This is where you can add new friends to your account.
